American Staffordshire Terrier - Faith - Large - Adult - Female
We talk about disabilities as being 'different' as if it was a 'problem'. Well, someone has not told Faith she has a disability or that she is different (and we are not going to). This darling girl of 12 months of age was brought in to Sarasota Sheriff's Office Animal Services dragging her hind quarters and covered in demodex mange. Her outgoing personality and lively spirit was clearly saying 'don't pass me by because......' of course, we didn't. Off to the Vet to see what we could do to help her. It 'appears' she may have been run over by a car when she was very young and her pelvis was broken and has healed. Faith doesn't care because she can still run and play - the other dogs don't treat her any different so why should we? She has been nicknamed Seal, affectionately as sometimes she looks like a seal running. She is unable to run on one of her hind legs but she does use it for balance.
