Pebbles came to us two years ago as a ten pound puppy. With her big puppy grin and wagging tail, she quickly found a home. Sadly, two years later her owner passed away and Pebbles, a Shepherd mix, has been back living at HSSC for the past 4 1/2 months. Although her owner loved her dearly, Pebbles, now thirty-nine pounds, has had little training, little exposure to other dogs and became toy possessive. During her time at HSSC, staff and volunteers have worked closely with this sweet, happy-go-lucky little girl and today, she has mastered all the basic commands, including "drop it," an important tool for toy possessive pups. Pebbles walks well on a gentle leader and with enough exercise and firm but gentle reinforcement of her training, this 'non-perfect' girl will make some lucky person a perfect companion.
